Hello Dear Readers!
This is the inaugural post on my new blog! A huge welcome and thank you to you for reading, commenting, and sharing. I decided to start my own blog mainly because of the garbage fire that facebook has become (always was?) I found it gross and violating that facebook feels entitled to sell our private messages so I deleted my account ( https://www.theguardian.com/technology/2018/dec/19/facebook-shared-user-data-private-messages-netflix-spotify-amazon-microsoft-sony?CMP=Share_iOSApp_Other )
To me it’s a fundamental matter of corporate respect for its customers and my basic entitlement to choosing what happens with my own words. And facebook clearly doesn’t respect that.
So I’m launching my own blog where I will continue to share political and academic thoughts and discussions, as well as diving into travel in more depth.
My hope is that this will become an active place to discuss travel, culture, global politics and politics in our home towns, the human condition, and what it means to be a part of a community.
Thank you so much for reading, please leave a comment, and if you enjoy a post please consider sharing it.
-Hope and a Necterine
